lATINO LEADERSHIP YOUTH PROGRAM (LLYP)
About our program: Our Latino Leadership Youth Program (LLYP) is focused on the prevention of concerning behavior and promotion of healthy lifestyles and decision making, while creating a ¨familia¨ environment for the youth within one’s school and community. Our program is a comprehensive, evidence-based youth leadership development program that supports and guides youth to prevent substance abuse, violence, and school failure by focusing on academic and life goals. This program consists of weekly workshops, community service, leadership development, educational field trips, mentorship, promoting cultural awareness, case management, and college preparation and job readiness training.
Our mission: Our mission is to serve our Latino community by providing a safe haven to our students. We uphold our mission by educating our youth on Latino culture, offering resources to benefit their success, providing information about prevention and awareness, and helping our students become the next future Latino leaders.
Who we serve: We serve Latino and Latina youth who are in 6th grade through 12th grade. Anyone can join our program, whether you are Latino/Hispanic or interested in learning about Latino/Hispanic culture.
